In north america us blacks receive very little information regarding African culture or history. This is usually due to the low standing they have for anyone of the pan African Diaspora. Since I found this site I thought I would confirm these common belies that the white people here teach us.

That Africans hate us and are embarrassed of us (western blacks)

That it impossible for Africa to become a country because all the tribes cannot get along

That Africa is a horrible place to live and if we visit we will be killed

Africa will always be cannot survive without foreign help because if no white countries helped out Africans would keep killing each other even while people take their resources from under their noses

I don't mean to insult anyone but I thought it might lead to some meaningful conversation to discuss & clear up misconceptions between the panafrican nation

Wonder Africans they’re referring to. This is their opinion and not fact because Africans from abroad appreciated better than Africans in many things example job opportunities.

That it impossible for Africa to become a country because all the tribes cannot get along

To some degree this is truth, judging by some civil wars in different parts of the continent both as time goes by this gradually changing as event is over coming some of the things that cause the problem e.g tribalism.

That Africa is a horrible place to live and if we visit we will be killed

This sounds too general and relative as I don’t know which aspect of living he/she is basing the judgment on and what they consider horrible. For example is it government system, house, people hospitality, technology, national resources and so on?

Africa will always be cannot survive without foreign help because if no white countries helped out Africans would keep killing each other even while people take their resources from under their noses

Africa needing foreign helps to survive or not has been a long debate. Just know there is different between wants and needs.

Africa is more than a people,  is a continent with 54 counteries not a country as some people outside Africa think. Therefore different countries in Africa have different cultures, government system, life style and belief as a result there is no an all conquering approach to any of your questions above.

Africans are not embarrassed by our brothers in the diaspora. Both Africans at home and in the diaspora admire, and love one another. In-fact one could argue that African-Americans get better treatment in Africa than Africans.
Yes you will always have the ignorant ones, but that is to be expected. As for the problems that Africa faces, I do believe that Africa can indeed be one viable country, however a credible leadership would be necessary to oversee this. Also the amount of power that Africa would wield would be textremely great, and frankly global powers would not allow that to take place so easily.
Anyway, if you're indeed interested in learning more about Africa, I have a weekly series where I discuss African countries on YouTube (self promo I know), and you can also start by learning about some of Africa's greatest leaders like; Patrice Lumumba, Thomas Sankara, Nelson Mandela etc.
Hope this was of some help to you.

Africa is not just a people; it is also a continent home to 54 independent nations. Because of the wide variety of African cultures, governmental structures, lifestyles, and beliefs, there is no single answer to the questions you've posed.

While there have been a number of initiatives and efforts to enhance solidarity and cooperation, achieving meaningful unity will require continuous dialogue, engagement and cooperation among all parties concerned.
