NOT MY ENUGU...

The rate of insecurity in Enugu state is now becoming something to be worried about.
On daily basis, you hear different stories about people being robbed of their belongings and most times harmed on the streets of Enugu.
Sometimes you in broad day light. This is not the Enugu I've always known.

Last month, a friend was robbed in a moving vehicle. They collected her bag containing her phone and money, stabbed on the leg and pushed her down. This happened within Emene.

Few weeks ago, a friend was almost robbed of his Tricycle at the popular Naira Triangle in Enugu.

Few days ago, someone else was robbed of her phone in a moving Keke.

The funny thing is, these incidents happens between 6pm and 8pm. Not 10pm or 11pm or even 12am.

I had my own fair share when I was robbed of my money, phones and other personal items. One approached me with a dagger and asked that I give him all I had with me. I wanted to hesitate and prove stubborn not untill the second person showed up and pointed a gun to my neck.
For ordinary phone, power bank and few cash. Who am I to argue when 'landlords' are talking. I quickly gave them all I had with me that evening. How I got is a story for another day.

It was a funny and bad experience as I can't help but laugh each time it cross my mind.

This is not the Enugu I migrated to 7years ago. This is not the peaceful Enugu I've always wanted to live it.

Like they will say, 'Enugu is in the Hands of God'. I'll say, 'God Don remove Him Hand from Enugu'. This is not my beloved 042.
