To stop the innocent killing of hundreds of infants, children, and adults in Cameroon by Fortune 500 companies

Title: Please signup to stop the innocent killing of hundreds of infants, children, and adults in Cameroon by Fortune 500 companies AES Corporation and ACTIS Capital LLC due to their lethal provision and supply of electrical power and voltage fluctuations; and to prevent further human right abuses by these companies in Cameroon.

Description:

There is irrefutable proof of deaths of babies and children due to the power outages and voltage fluctuations. The Nya Tchami family lost 4 babies and children in a blazing fire caused by power outages as their home burnt down in February, 2013; similarly, the Mendofe family lost all five of their children in Douala due to power outages. There are hundreds of such documented stories. Domestic users suffer intolerable discomfort. Household electronic equipment suffers the most with high voltage or when electricity comes back. When power flows back on, the tension on the line is often vastly over the 220 Volts limit, electrocuting and sometimes killing persons. Home appliances cannot support such high tensions and often go up in flames when the power cut comes to an end. Factories burn to the ground due to power cuts. Thousands of home appliances are destroyed on daily basis; business men lose life savings, entire operations due to power outages. The population is being trampled upon, deprived of human rights: life, liberty, and security of person; subjected to cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment; deprived of right to rest and leisure; right to adequate social services.

From August 2012 to March 2013, Cameroon recorded approximately 8,337 power cuts. There is no single day in Cameroon that the population goes without recording a minimum of ten electricity cuts per day. The damages are fatal, colossal. The incessant power outages, over the past decade, have caused the deaths of hundreds of infants, children, and adults. Further, businesses have suffered astronomically. Often times, the sudden return of electricity has resulted to fire outbreaks, burning houses, major markets, ruining entire factories and business operations.

AES, headquartered in Arlington, VA, and ACTIS LLP, headquartered in London, UK, make decisions causing these damages to Cameroonians from their headquarters in the U.S.A. and UK. Their decisions to undercapitalised their operations in Cameroon in order to maximize their profits, failure to build or maintain Cameroon's power grids, failure to maintain and improve the electrical infrastructure, dams, failure to perform as per their convention with the Cameroon government, are made from their headquarters in U.S.A. and UK. These companies siphon money from Cameroon consumers via inaccurate bills emailed from Arlington, VA. These companies make huge profits, and supply fatal services, violating human rights of Cameroonians, with no fear of repercussions. They provide no customer service, no redress allowed to their consumers in Cameroon.

This petition wishes to bring the plight of Cameroon consumers who have been fighting to stop these human right violations to no effect. Even a lawsuit filed against them ( View a copy of the lawsuit filed against AES and ACTIS Capital LLP ) in the U.S.A. is on the verge of dismissal on jurisdictional grounds. Justice, fairness, and adequate provision, supply, and distribution of power is all we ask for from these companies.

Perfect

Isn't this electrical fault? what stops engineers of ratifying the fault? are these companies you mentioned power generating/distribution companies in Cameroon?
