ORLANDO, Fla. -- During the Magics recent struggles one of the few constants has been the offence provided by Arron Afflalo. The veteran provided another reminder of why hes so indispensable for a young team trying to find itself. Afflalo scored 23 points to lead five Orlando players in double-figures and the Magic snapped a three-game losing streak with a 109-92 win over the Detroit Pistons on Friday night. Orlando led the Pistons by as many as 22 points and cruised in the fourth quarter. Afflalo said the victory was one of the most complete efforts the Magic have posted in recent memory. "Its good to get a win at home for once," said Afflalo, who has scored at least 20 points in five straight outings. "I dont think weve won here this month. It was pretty impressive defensively. I thought the bigs did a great job trying to fight their bigs all night rebounding. I thought we shared the ball throughout the game, made the right play. "When we play like that I think were pretty good." The Magics leading scorer this season, Afflalo played eight minutes of the third quarter after lightly turning his left ankle. But after coming out of the game briefly, he was able to finish the period -- scoring six points -- before resting in the fourth. "The ankle, its one of those things where if you can fight through it, you go ahead and play," he said. The victory halted a five-game home losing streak for the Magic, who hadnt won at the Amway Center since the day before Thanksgiving. Nik Vucevic added 20 points and 11 rebounds, and rookie Victor Oladipo finished with 16 points and a career-high 11 assists. Magic coach Jacque Vaughn thought Fridays effort was sparked by what he called a surprisingly "intense" practice for this time of year. "That has to be our signature -- we have to come to work," he said. "I always tell them I dont know what results thats going to lead to wins and losses-wise, but you can look yourself in the mirror and appreciate what you do for a living, and your teammates appreciate you when you come to work." Brandon Jennings had 21 points and Will Bynum added 18 for the Pistons, who had a streak of three consecutive road victories ended. "From the start of the game, we just couldnt get anything going. We got a couple stops in the third quarter, but we couldnt score, and it just kept going downhill from there," Pistons coach Maurice Cheeks said. "We couldnt get anything going offensively, they pushed the ball down our throat defensively, and then we didnt make any shots." The Pistons, who claimed eight of their 14 wins on the road, never found a flow on offence. They shot 41 per cent for the game, and were outscored in the paint 58-48. "We had no sense of urgency and we didnt muster energy at all tonight," Jennings said. "Its got to be a collective unit to try to get it back together, but we didnt have it tonight." In some of their recent losses Orlando had started fast, only to fall apart late in the games. The Magic jumped out to another early lead, but this time were able to sustain it with a variety of scoring bursts that kept the Pistons playing catch up for most of the night. Orlando hovered over 50 per cent shooting throughout and carried a 19-point lead into the fourth quarter. The Magic carved out their early advantage shooting 56 per cent in the opening 24 minutes to take a 55-48 lead into halftime. Glen Davis had eight points in less than five minutes and then yielded to Afflalo, who finished the half with 12 points. Oladipo and Tobias Harris each added 10 points. Afflalo said theres no secret to what it will take for the Magic to have another "good night" like Friday. "Just get after it, man. Theres no mystery," he said. "We know what we need to do -- same focus, same effort. It starts with our preparation in shootaround, our intensity, attention to detail. And keeping our foot on the gas pedal." NOTES: The Magic improved to 5-6 when they score 100 or more points. ... Pistons G Chauncey Billups opted to continue his recent program of resting his tendinitis-affected knee on the first game of back-to-backs. Cheeks said Billups is expected to play when Detroit visits Washington on Saturday. nike air max thea sale .[Credit: Eurosport]Lets not forget about the Japanese fans who stayed behind following their countrys matches against Ivory Coast and Greece to help clean up the stadium. Barcelona was drawn to face in-form Manchester City, shaped with a strong contingent of Spain internationals by the Catalan clubs former director of football. The four-time winner must first travel to Etihad Stadium, where Manchester United and Arsenal have already been routed in the Premier League this season. "I think Barcelona will be very concerned that they have drawn us," said City coach Manuel Pellegrini, who spent the past nine seasons in the Spanish league. "They are not the team of two years ago." Chelsea will have an emotional reunion with former striker Didier Drogba when it plays Galatasaray, and defending champion Bayern Munich was paired with Arsenal in the last 16 for the second straight year. "Im the luckiest man in this competition in both games Ill be playing home," Drogba, who spent eight seasons at Stamford Bridge, wrote on his Instagram account. Both City and Arsenal ended up with tough draws after finishing second in their Champions League groups. "No one of the (seeded teams) wanted to find Man City or Arsenal," said former Barcelona playmaker Luis Figo, who helped conduct the draw. "Its bad luck for Barcelona and Bayern Munich." Also, nine-time winner Real Madrid will face Schalke, Manchester United got a favourable draw against Olympiakos, Borussia Dortmund will face Zenit St. Petersburg, AC Milan will play Atletico Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain will meet Bayer Leverkusen. The first legs will be played Feb. 18-19 and 25-26, with the return matches set for March 11-12 and 18-19. Man City is the only newcomer to the Champions League knockout rounds, and wasted an opportunity to be seeded when Pelligrini did not realize that one more goal in its 3-2 win in Munich last week would have won the group ahead of Bayern. Now, it opens the program against Barcelona at home, where the team is averaging more than four goals a game. "Pelligrini is a very, very good coach," Barcelona direcctor Amador Bernabeu said.dddddddddddd "We know from his coaching in Spain that when we play him we have problems all the time." Manchester Citys director of football is Txiki Begiristain, who joined the English club from Barcelona. "If you want to be champions you need to beat the best ones," Begiristain said. "We have to score in away games in the Champions League." Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho said last week that Drogba should return to his former club. The Ivory Coast forwards last kick as a Chelsea player was the penalty shootout winner in the 2012 final against Bayern. The German champions have a re-match with Arsenal, which won 2-0 in Munich last season after Bayern had cruised to a 3-1 win in London. Bayern coach Pep Guardiola also renews rivalries after his Barcelona team eliminated Arsenal in 2010 and 11. "I know Arsene Wenger quite well, I know his players quite well," Guardiola said at the Club World Cup in Morocco. "In the draw it was the most difficult team." Madrid continues its quest for a record 10th European title with a relatively low-key pairing against Schalke. "On paper, yes, but that is only theory," Real Madrid director Emilio Butragueno said. "Football is unpredictable. Its a German team with a great mentality." Dortmund, which lost to Bayern in last seasons final, got arguably the most unwanted trip -- a Feb. 25 visit to Russia to play Zenit in almost certain below-freezing temperatures. "It wont be easy," Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke said. "But when I look at the teams the other German clubs have to play against, we got through OK." Leverkusen will be at home first against big-spending PSG and its feared forward line of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani. "You dont have to be an expert to say we are the outsiders," said Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voeller, whose team lost 5-0 at home to United last month. PSG coach Laurent Blanc said it "could have been worse," but then added: "If they are second to Bayern it means they are a talented team." cheap nfl Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap Jerseys cheap nfl Jerseys wholesale Jerseys ' ' '
