Detroit, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Tomas Tatar scored twice as the Detroit Red Wings offense came alive by scoring five unanswered goals to end a six-game slump with a 6-3 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday. Henrik Zetterberg and Danny DeKeyser each finished with a goal and assist, Stephen Weiss and Johan Franzen also scored and Gustav Nyquist supplied three assists for the Red Wings, who matched their total goal output over their losing streak. Detroits power-play unit converted on 4-of-6 opportunities and Petr Mrazek stopped 13-of-16 shots in the win. We are happy our power play is working now, said Tatar. Franzen celebrated his 35th birthday by firing a shot past a screened Neuvirth with 5:54 to play to give the Red Wings a two-goal cushion. Tatar scored on the man advantage once again to cap the scoring with 2:12 to go. Early in the contest, Drew Stafford whipped the puck toward the slot from below the goal line. The puck deflected off Deslauriers and into the net at 2:36. The goal was originally waved off but was ruled to be a good goal following replay review. The Red Wings drew even on the power play as Nyquist sent a cross-ice pass to Jakub Kindl at the left circle. Kindl immediately dished the puck to Weiss, who finished off the tic-tac-toe play with a wrister from the right side of the net at 10:50 of the first. Stewart put Buffalo back in front less than three minutes later. "As far as license with the (CABMMA), he would be able to fight no problem," Dr. Tannure said. "He would be tested like any other fighter.
