If Asham clears and is assigned to Hartford of the American Hockey League, the Rangers will be on the hook for a $75,000 cap hit, while Birons cap hit will be $375,000 with the Wolf Pack, according to the paper. Asham has racked up 14 penalty minutes and is a minus-3 over three games without a point this season.
