Coming off a career high 39-goal season, Max Pacioretty is ready to assume a more prominent leadership position with the Canadiens heading into the 2014-15 season. Speaking with TSN 690 on Monday, Pacioretty said hes had discussions with PK Subban regarding the Canadiens vacant captaincy and both players are prepared to step up and fill the void left by Brian Gionta. "We briefly touched upon being leaders and wearing letters potentially on this team, but at the end of the day everybody on the team wants whats best for the team and if people feel like me or PK or someone else would be a good candidate for the captain then Im 100 percent on board with whatever decision is made." In reference to the pressure that comes with carrying the "C" in Montreal, the 25-year-old commented that as long as he dealt with things day-by-day and concerned himself with the process as opposed to the results assuming the primary leadership role for the Cnadiens wouldnt be an issue.
