The Germany midfielder scored a hat-trick against Ludogorets, but his team-mates have revealed harshest critic

Alexis Sanchez scored a goal of the season contender to open the scoring in Arsenal's win as he lobbed the goalie from an acute ankle. Walcott added a second while Oxlade-Chamberlain scored a third early in the second half. Ozil scored the last three as the Gunners won 6 – 0 in front of their own fans.

After the match Walcott mocked: "I could really throw him under the bridge here, first half he wasn't around though was he?"

In his turn Arsenal defender Mustafi added:  "Sometimes I have to criticise him as well – that's how football is. Everyone makes mistakes and we have to be professional with it, but sometimes we have to criticise ourselves the most, not the people out there who criticise us. You want to play well, you want to win games, you don't want to make mistakes – and if you make a mistake, you are the first one who gets angry."

However, he stressed: "He is a fantastic player, he helps us a lot and I'm happy for him (that he has scored the first hat-trick of his career)."

The player concluded: "We all know his qualities and that he makes things happen in the final third. He has that quality on the ball, he sees runners, and if you give him the ball in the final third, in front of the goalkeeper, you can be sure he is going to score."
