Vincent Enyeama, who
committed a howler to allow
Malawi an equaliser on Saturday,
has urged his team mates to
forget that incident and focus on
the upcoming second leg 2013
Africa Cup of Nations qualifier
against Rwanda on Saturday.
The stand-in captain addressed
his mates at lunch where he
thanked them for the amazing
fighting spirit they have shown
so far in the qualifiers for the
2014 Fifa World Cup Brazil and
the 2013 Afcon. He added that he
has been pleasantly surprised by
the new set of players in the
national team and was amazed
that such talents still abound in
the team, especially from the
Nigerian league.

“I won’t be surprised if during
this period I’m dropped from this
team,” said Enyeama. “Nobody is
too big to be asked to go if he’s
not measuring up, but I must
commend those of us that are
here for being very committed
not only to qualifying for the
World Cup but also the Nations
Cup.
“We were supposed to win in
Malawi and it didn’t happen, that
is now in the past.
“We must forget that and be
ready to beat Rwanda silly to
qualify for the next Nations Cup.
Don’t forget gentlemen that we
failed to qualify for the last
Nations Cup and God forbids
thunder will not strike twice in
our time. That is why I’m
begging us to leave issues of last
week behind and get ready to
pound Rwanda for the Nations
Cup”, he said amidst applause
from his teammates.
