To master the art of web design, designers must follow the following:

1. Web designers are marketers per se. The websites are all about the advertising of products, ideas and services. Therefore, a web designer has to understand the mentality of traders to create a design that sell.

2. Read, read, read. Not experience everything. Therefore, our tendency is to learn from others. Reading web design books, newsletters and tips are invaluable and can save you time and effort. Basically, books are more conclusive than newsletters and tips, however, are free and updated on everything.

3. Reduce your target market. You can not please everybody the same thing can not be good at everything. Therefore, this fact calls for the reduction of their target market. Even in web design interface, called, a designer can not claim to be an expert on anything and everything related to the needs of a website. It is best to choose a certain audience and try to be good to catch your attention, preference and choice. This practice allows the best in a given area, therefore the development of knowledge.

4. Responding to the needs of your target audience. To meet the needs of the visitor, web designers, need to know what type of visitors to your site is nice. Do they belong to the younger generation or otherwise? What they want from their site? If this information, details and pleasures in place to get your full attention and loyalty? Note that the colors, font size, style, graphics, content and integrity of the site affects viewer's decision and choice.

5. Learn the basics of SEO and copywriting. Although Search Engine Optimization and copywriting are not directly related to the design, yet the designers must have basic knowledge about them. This is because web design is intertwined with the marketing, use of keywords and visibility.

Apart from that, designers must have knowledge of basic programming concepts. If not, the tendency is to waste time or to create a mediocre or poor design at the expense of the sites.

6. The primacy of functionality. If ever you face a decision between the aesthetic form of a website and its functionality has to be firm in defending the latter. Not everything that is enough is "marketable." Moreover, it is creating web sites for the good things that are pleasing appearance.

Above anything else, the site must be functional to meet all visitors' wishes and needs. The appearance is a means to capture the attention of visitors, however, is not the end. If a designer prioritizes appearance alone without taking into account the primary survey of web site marketing will be affected.

7. Know when to break the rules. The rules are only guidelines, if you feel that the standards are not appropriate for a certain creation follow your heart's desire and risk in an experimental adventure.
