If you want to put video on your website should have a good understanding of the basic types of video files. What kind of video files to use? What are the pros and cons of each type of file? These are just some of the questions to ask before proceeding with the implementation of video on its website.

There are three basic types of video files on the Internet. MPEG, AVI and Quicktime. I believe the Quicktime file type is the most popular because a lot of fun and big news sites that exclusive reliance on its website.

AVI is the oldest of the three main file types. It is a video format facing windows, but it is the most popular due to the compatibility of audio and video synchronization problems. Because Quicktime format you can use either Windows or Macintosh computer, the AVI video file type loses its popularity every day.

The MPEG is a type of popular video files using your high-quality output to increase his popularity in the Quicktime format. MPEG is used in video games, CD-ROM and other media that require high quality output. A disadvantage of MPEG is that it sacrifices file size to gain in digital quality. MPEG video files are usually large.

Another disadvantage of mpeg is that you really need time and sophisticated hardware and software to convert video in mpeg normal. And do not forget that the mpeg format is not compatible with Apple Macintosh and the sense that if you get MPEG videos on your website, Macintosh users can not see it.

Quicktime is by far the type most popular video files developed by Apple for Macintosh users, but also supports IBM compatible machines and Windows operating systems. The hardware and software to digitize video in Quicktime format is very cheap, compared to an mpeg. Therefore it is much easier and cheaper to create the video and put it on your website using the Quicktime format.
