I remember communicating with a lady, at  a stage  decided to step up my game, only for her to tell me that she is married.  That made me felt naughty and irresponsibly  even though it shouldn't be so as isn't my fault nor her's.

My experience was awful one. There was this beautiful young lady during and after sex there was this unpleasant smell.
I posted and asking for solution here http://cokoye.com/love-relationship-romance-chat-room/her-virginal-smells-how-would-i-tell-her/
I was embarrassed by this.

There is this young lady I boarded the same bus with, when we alighted, I approached her, she didn't look at my face and responded "Excuse me" I proceeded to further introduce myself. This lady raised her voice and shouted: what is matter with you? Most people around turned to our direction. As a gently man I was really embarrassed.

Yes, the same way people around understood and was against the lady for shouting.
And started saying Oboy! leave the girl na so dey do,  until time is over.
In a serious note, I approached this lady for serious relationship, because it was my community and this is one of reasons I traveled.

She probably felt threatened or like you were intruding into her private sphere. Most people would not be comfortable with having strangers following them 'around'...

I also observe that ladies that are engaged or in serious relationship tend to embarrase men than those who aren't.  The logic is simply: these ladies reason that they need no more any more and any other man outside their main man is unimportant.
But advise for these ladies is never born a bridge (because you can never tell) you might need to cross it one day. Life is unpredctable.
